Florida crooner T-Pain refers to his style of music as "Hard & B."
He was signed to Akon's Konvict Music imprint after doing an unauthorized remake of the 2004 hit "Locked Up."
T-Pain started making music (as a rapper and producer) at 10 years old, before joining a crew called Nappy Headz.
Nappy Headz had a few local hits before disbanding; they include "Robbery" and "F.L.A."
T-Pain's song "I'm Sprung" is the lead single off his debut solo LP "Rappa Ternt Sanga."
