Shyne nasce a Brooklyn nel '79. Noto per i suoi crimini più che per la musica, il suo apice è la condanna a 10 anni per tentato omicidio. Il fatto coinvolge anche Puff Daddy. Nel circo mediatico esce l'omonimo album d'esordio (n.5 nelle classifiche Billboard). Segue "Godfather Buried Alive" (2004) mentre è ancora dentro.
