Underground US folk artist Michael Hurley, aka Snock, was born in 1941. The guitarist and singer is something of a musician's musician, an artist whose work is revered by his peers but largely foreign to the greateer listening public. His songs are typically honest, dealing with everyday themes in a uniquely stripped-down manner. Hurley led a nomadic existence, even finding himself at odds with the law on several occasions, before releasing his debut, "First Songs", in 1965. Over the next 40 years, Hurley released several more albums, one of the more recent being "Sweetkorn", of 2002.
