More often recognized for his work with siblings the Gatlin Brothers, Larry Gatlin has nevertheless scored some solo hits.
Before finding his niche, Gatlin was in a gospel group called the Imperials. He befriended Dottie West at that time.
Before he landed his solo deal with Monument Records in 1973, Gatlin was a backup singer for Kris Kristofferson.
