News Ticker: Madonna, Diddy, Gary Glitter and Bon Jovi

Madonna was on hand at Michigan’s Traverse City Film Festival to present the Malawi documentary she helped produce, I Am Because We Are. Filmmaker and festival co-founder Michael Moore said Madonna has “an incredible heart and such a generous spirit.” Gunfire broke out Friday at an Atlanta club event hosted by Jermaine Durpi and attended by Diddy, Nelly and Usher. While no celebrities were injured, a club security guard was shot in the arm. Gary Glitter of “Rock & Roll Part 2″ fame will be released from a Vietnamese prison on August 19th. Glitter was jailed in March 2006 on charges he molested two underage girls. Keeping with the free concerts, Bon Jovi is expected to announce a free show soon to celebrate the arena football championship win by the team Jovi co-owns, the Philadelphia Soul.
