Farley Jackmaster Funk
As one of the original directors of the early '80s House movement, Farley Jackmaster Funk helped to introduce House to the mainstream with his radio show on Chicago's WBMX. A globe-trotting DJ who made short-lived forays into R&B and rap, Farley peaked as a producer in 1986 with his classic 12" track "Love Can't Turn Around" -- which climbed to the U.K.'s Top 10 Pop charts that year.
