Basta ascoltare "Shovel Headed Kill Machine" per sapere tutto dei giganti del metal Exodus. Paul Baloff (voce), Geoff Andrews (basso), Tom Hunting (batteria), Kirk Hammett (chitarre) e Gary Holt (chitarre) fomano la band nel 1981 a San Francisco, California. Vengono paragonati a gruppi tipo Megadeth e Slayer. Influenzati da Motörhead e Judas Priest, i membri della band iniziano ad incidere album come "Bonded By Blood", "Pleasures Of The Flesh", "Impact Is Imminent" e "Force Of Habit". Paul Baloff lascia la band per poi ricongiungersi ad essa per l'album "Tempo Of The Damned".
