A composer who came of age in the late '70s/early '80s, Bappi Lahiri was a child prodigy who became a hitmaker for a while. Lahiri's been accused of both plagiarism and undercharging, thus undercutting his competition. Lahiri's response to charges of plagiarism is that all artists steal inspiration. Maybe he's right. Lahiri will forever be linked with the disco craze of the early '80s, thanks to films like "Suraksha."
